Minutes of the Meeting

October 1, 2022

President Griffin called the meeting to order.

The minutes from the September meeting were read. Rick Goss motioned

for them to be accepted, after many seconds the motion passed.

The financial report was read.

The code of conduct was read.

Roxanne Jenkins read charges filed against Jennifer DeShields by Beverly

Alexander. After both parties spoke, the membership did not uphold the

findings of the Hearing Committee. Jennifer DeShields was found not

guilty.

Rosalinda McCain made a motion to hire a lawyer for the UPSCAL stated at

the National Convention. After a second by Roxanne Jenkins, the motion

failed.

Scott Nowaczck made a motion to form a committee to find the cost to have

a lawyer on retention for UPSCAL #168. After a second by James Stein the

motion passed.

Roxanne Jenkins made a motion to hire an outside accountant for UPSCAL

#168. After a second from Charlethea Jackson and much discussion, the

motion failed.

Rick Kydus opened up nominations for the 2023-2025 elections.
