Minutes of the Meeting

January 15, 2023

President Cooper called the meeting to order.

The notes from the November meeting were read.

The financial report was read.

We discussed:

- DOL Audit

- T-Shirts

- Appreciation given to the Election Committee

- PostalEase

- Rumors about Gastonia

- Why everyone should be a member and the benefits of being a member of UPSCAL

Rick Goss made a motion to suspend the order of business to swear in the new officers.

Rick Goss made a motion to send up to 30 stewards and those interested in becoming a

steward, to the Tri-State Training Convention to be held in Augusta, GA from April 20-April

22. The union to pay travel, per diem and loss time for training hours. After a second from

Travis Samples, the motion passed.

Rick Goss made a motion to send the President and/or up to 2 Executive Board members to all

the President Conferences for 2023. The union to pay travel, per diem and lost time for training

hours. After a second from Laura Austin, the motion passed.

Jeremy Hughes made a motion to purchase every union member a T-Shirt. After a second by

Travis Samples, the motion passed.

Scott Nowaczck made a motion to have the drawings and adjourn. After a second from

Rhonda Chastain the motion passed. The winners were: $50- Russell Van Order, $35-Jeremy

Hughes, $15 Travis Samples.

The Winner of the $100.00 jackpot was Deshoria Woody. She was not in attendance another

number was drawn. The winner was Noah Plato. He was not in attendance jackpot goes to

$125.00 for the February 19, 2023 meeting.
