On September 24, the Arbitration Board heard testimony from the most important of the union’s expert witnesses – APWU members. The Mail Processing Clerk, Retail Clerk and Mail Processing Equipment Maintenance panels all testified, speaking about the daily tasks they carry out, their safety and other workplace concerns, the amount of expertise needed to do their job effectively, and their dedication to the postal customers and the postal mission.

The hearings will continue tomorrow (Wednesday, September 25) and Thursday. Tomorrow, APWU members in the MVS craft will testify on the Driver (MVO/TTO) and Vehicle Maintenance panels. The Maintenance Building Maintenance and Custodial panel will also testify tomorrow. They will be lived tweeted on Twitter and pictures can be found on Flickr.

Check back later this week for a larger article highlighting the panelists' testimony. If you would like to be notified when the APWU posts updates about Interest Arbitration and our fight for a good contract, text CONTRACT to 91990 or complete the form below.
